Short version: we collect only what we need, and we never sell your info.

Launch-update signups

If you sign up, we store your email, and optionally your name and shop name, the time you signed up, which page you signed up on, and that you ticked the “OK to email me” box. We use it only to email you about Embroidery Shop Tools updates and offers. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or email support@embroiderytools.app.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Gumroad. Gumroad shares your name/email and order details with us so we can deliver your license and support you. We never see your card number. See Gumroad’s privacy policy for how they handle payments.

License activation

When you activate or the app re-checks your license (about once a week), the app sends your license key and a hashed PC ID (a one-way code made from your PC’s Windows ID, not your name or files) to our server. We store a hash of the key, the hashed PC ID, and activation/move dates, only to make one license work on one PC and to let you move it. The app sends nothing else: no designs, no files, no usage tracking.

Free trial

While the app is unlicensed, it sends only the hashed PC ID and the app version number to our server (which stores a further-hashed copy and the date it was first seen) so each PC gets one 14-day trial.

Website analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Google may set cookies for this. Our server also keeps short-lived, hashed IP records to block abuse (rate limiting).
